Frequently asked questions
Does the device work for severe apnea?+
Intraoral devices are most effective for mild-to-moderate apnea. For severe apnea, CPAP is usually first-line, but some patients combine both. We define it with your sleep physician.
Do I need a sleep study first?+
Yes, ideally. A sleep study (polysomnography) confirms diagnosis and severity. If you don't have one, we refer you before fabricating the device.
Is it comfortable to sleep with?+
Most patients adapt within 1–2 weeks. The custom design significantly reduces initial discomfort — very different from a generic mouthguard.
Does medical insurance cover it?+
Many medical insurance plans cover oral devices for apnea (not dental insurance). We help you navigate the process.
How much does it cost?+
It depends on the device type. We give a clear quote after evaluation. Accessible payment plans available if your insurance doesn't cover.
Start with a sleep evaluation
We review your case, coordinate with your physician if needed, and tell you if an intraoral device is right for you.
